Diorama of Spring Love: Jezebel in Nordic Eden at Chez Dominique

As if by coincidence, the word diorama combines Dior and drama, both dear to Tiia Vanhatapio. Dioramas are also windows to another reality, imagination playgrounds.

The window displays are two scenes dedicated to love, vintage Scandinavian movie scenes and the theme is based on Vanhatapio’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection Jezebel, A Golden Girl with a Black Heart – temptress, a siren.

The dioramas have a strong emphasis on subtle eroticism from a voyers perspective; a nocturnal moonlight swim scenes in the classic Finnish films. It also drives from the acclaimed Mika Waltari’s film Witch Returns to Life.

The other window portrays the glowing euphoria of a newlyfound spring love, the other one is darker and more desperate on it’s theme. Enrobed pieces of clothing, a moment captured in time, supernatural vibe, loss of hope. Pleasure. Eden.
